Overview

JOB PROFILE:

To manage and execute the Bank’s fixed income and foreign exchange trading activities by optimizing investment returns, managing liquidity, and mitigating market risks in line with approved treasury policies, regulatory requirements, and the Bank’s overall financial strategy.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To drive bank’s revenue by actively trading foreign exchange and fixed income products while managing interest rate and currency risks.
• To execute trades in Fixed income instruments (government bonds), Treasury bills, Money market instruments and foreign exchange products (spot, forwards, swaps) in line with approved internal and regulatory limits

• To monitor market movements, interest rates, yield curves, and FX trends to identify trading and hedging opportunities.
• To assist in optimizing the bank’s cost of funds and returns on liquid assets.
• To maintain relationships with the regulator, brokers, and correspondent banks.

• To provide market insights and reports to the management.

• To support the introduction of new products, currencies, or trading systems.

CORE COMPETENCIES & SKILLS

• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Sound understanding of interest rate mechanics, FX markets, and yield curves.
• Strong risk awareness and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Treasury and Trading systems.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
• Professional qualifications – ACI Dealing Certificate
• Experience of not less than 3 years in Fixed Income and/or FX trading, preferably within a banking or financial institution.
• Strong understanding of Treasury products, financial markets, and trading practices.
